Spice measures how explicit a book gets. That is useful, and we rank for it separately. What it cannot tell you is whether the hero is an actual predator, whether anyone you have been given a reason to care about is likely to die, or whether the relationship would get them both killed if the wrong person found out.
That is what the Fantasy Index measures. It is the only scoring system on this site we built ourselves, and we apply it to every book we review.
Bestial is how much monster is left in him. Not how brooding he looks across a ballroom, how little of his humanity he has actually kept.
Fatality is how lethal the world is. Whether death is a live possibility rather than a threat the narrative has no intention of carrying out.
Forbidden is what the relationship costs. Not whether it is frowned upon, whether it is survivable.
Each is scored out of ten, for a maximum of thirty.
Below is every book we have reviewed, ranked darkest first.
